Dr. Anders Engström

Dr. Anders Engström

The CEO of Thermo-Calc Software AB, where he has been working since 2001. With a doctorate in Materials Science and Engineering from KTH Royal Institute of Technology in 1996, Anders is an expert in advanced thermodynamic and kinetic modelling and database development. Anders has extensive experience in research and development, including the development of the DICTRA software, as well as industrial experience of Ni-based superalloys and cemented carbides. Anders serves as the chairman of the board of QuesTek Europe.

Dr. Aziz Asphahani

Dr. Aziz Asphahani

The CEO of QuesTek International LLC, with 19 years in the specialty metals industry with Haynes International, where he served as Vice President, General Manager and R&D Director. Aziz’s degrees include Diplome Ingenieur-Physics from Ecole Centrale de Paris and a doctorate in materials science from MIT. Aziz is presently serving on the Boards of QuesTek Innovations LLC, the Goldin Institute, the ASM-Material Education Foundation and the Board of Illinois Math & Science Academy-Fund.

Prof. John Ågren

Prof. John Ågren

As a co-founder of Thermo-Calc Software AB and one of the developers of the Thermo-Calc and DICTRA software he is the chairman of the Thermo-Calc Software Board of Directors as well as a professor emeritus at the department of Materials Science and Engineering at KTH Royal Institute of Technology. With a doctorate from KTH in 1981, around 200 publications and having delivered hundreds of conference presentations world-wide, Prof. Ågren is recognized as a leader in thermodynamic and kinetic analysis of phase transformations and a pioneer in the field of Integrated Computational Materials Engineering (ICME).

Dr. Jason Sebastian

As the president of QuesTek Innovations LLC, and with a doctorate in Materials Science and Engineering from Northwestern University in 2001 and CPGS in Materials Science and Metallurgy from University of Cambridge, Jason is a specialist in nanostructural materials, computational materials design, alloy development and commercialization. Since joining QuesTek in 2006, his work has focused on the development of steels, Co-, Cu-, Ti and Ni-based superalloys; advanced soft magnetics, and other computationally-designed alloys.

Mr. Marcus Hugsén

Chief Financial Officer of the Thermo-Calc Software business group, with many years of experience in corporate finance, accounting and human resource management. Marcus holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Stockholm.

Mr. Raymond Genellie

Mr. Raymond Genellie

A co-founder of QuesTek Innovations LLC and serving as the Chief Operating Officer of QuesTek International LLC. Ray has more than 35 years of experience in financial and management positions in both for-profit and not-for-profit businesses. After service in the United States Navy, Ray received a Master of Science degree in finance from Northern Illinois University in 1979 and served as an instructor in the United States Department of Finance.

As a co-founder of QuesTek Innovations and the developer of QuesTek’s Materials by Design technology, he serves as the company’s Chief Science Officer. Since January 2020 he is also the Thermo-Calc professor of the practice at MIT. With more than 300 publications and having delivered hundreds of conference presentations world-wide, Prof. Olson is internationally recognized as a leader in the design of new materials and a pioneer in the field of Integrated Computational Materials Engineering (ICME).
