Prof. John Ågren awarded the ASM International Gold Medal

Congratulations to QuesTek Europe board member Prof. John Ågren for receiving the prestigious ASM International Gold Medal in recognition of his outstanding contributions to materials science and engineering!

Prof. Ågren's ground-breaking work on computational thermodynamics and kinetics in the 1970's and 1980's was an integral part of the foundation of the Thermo-Calc software and remains a cornerstone in Integrated Computational Materials Engineering (ICME) and materials innovation. This award does not only highlight Prof. Ågren's academic achievements, including over 200 journal publications to date, but also emphasize his contributions to materials innovation and entrepreneurship. Previous recipients of this award include, among others, C.S. Smith, L.S. Darken, C.M. Zener, N.J. Petch and G.B. Olson.
